Service of analysis of objective sperm motility by automated analyzer
The service consists of providing a thorough analysis of the objective sperm motility of seminal samples of various species. To do this we use our developed and validated software: Sperm Motility Tracker, SMT V.1, by which we track each individual cell.
The user will have the following information from each sample sent: cell concentration, percentage of total and progressive sperm motility, as well as the analysis of the trajectories of each individualized sperm. We provide a report with the kinetic parameters of each cell, among them: linear, curvilinear, average velocities (VSL, VCL, VAP) and characteristics of the cell path (lateral amplitude of the head, linearity, oscillation, straightness of the path and beat frequency of the flagellum).
Implementing
The evaluation of the seminal quality is one of the most used analysis tools in the classification of males for the service of direct mounting or artificial insemination programs. This method offers good plasticity for use in a wide variety of animal species (sheep, cattle, horses, fish) in the area of livestock industry as well as human reproductive medicine. A report shall be issued with the results of the semen quality analysis based on sperm motility.

What do I need to send to access the service?
The analysis can be made from fresh or frozen semen samples, or from videos obtained by the user. In the first case, we agreed on the best way to get the samples. In the second case, you must send us videos of diluted samples, captured with 25 fps or greater, with extension MP4, AVI, MPG or MOV and a maximum of 120 cells per field. We have the possibility to adjust the type of service according to the needs of the user.
How long does the service take?
It’s going to depend on the number of samples to be analyzed. We have operational capability to analyze several samples per week.
Can I access the Sperm Motility Tracker (SMT) on my own and analyze the samples in my laboratory?
Yes, you can. Contact us and we will give you more information on how to access the SMT and the terms of the license.
Do you have any other related services?
Yes, we also have the SMT2. An additional module to the SMT1 with the ability to analyze the behavior of different sub-populations of sperm within the same seminal sample. We can analyze your videos or your samples (fresh, chilled or frozen) with this module as well.
If you are an agricultural producer, you may also be interested in our services of sperm vitality analysis, total cell count, cell count with normal morphology, cell concentration calculation, subjective motility, among other parameters that account for the seminal quality of your sample.
Do they have any services that can be useful to the producer when he is in the field?
We are in the process of developing a portable device for the producer that allows him to become independent from the microscope and can evaluate the quality of a seminal sample in a few minutes when in the field. More information on this service will be available shortly.
