IIB-CONICET-UNMdP currently has a total area of 914 m2, distributed in two buildings. Between the two offices there are 12 laboratories adequately equipped for the development of research projects in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The IIB also has chambers for the growth of plants and microorganisms, a biotery and a biosecurity II greenhouse. The building also has a seminar room, workshop, laundry room, rooms for growing plants with humidity and controlled temperature, growth chambers, microscope room, drugstore, centrifuge room, radioactive isotope room, sterile room and solvent room.

The institute also has refrigerated centrifuges, ultracentrifuges, lyophilizer, fluorescence microscopes and binocular magnifying glass with digital camera and photography, confocal microscope with DIC and 4 lasers, refrigerators, freezers of -20°C and freezers of -80, Gradient thermocyclers, real-time thermocyclers, UV and blue transilluminator, G-box, Stratalinker, refrigerated microcentrifuges and microcentrifuges, geldryer, laminar fluxes, underwater and vertical electrophoresis vats for large and small gels, power sources, pHmetros, HPLC, FPLC, transfer vats, thermostatized baths, thermal plates, fractional collectors, hybridization furnaces, spectrophotometers, fluorometers and fluoroskan ascent Thermo, nanodrop and Storm 860 Amersham.
