The Biological Research Institute (IIB) is a dual-agency CONICET-UNMdP institute associated with the CIC - Province of Buenos Aires in which basic and applied research projects are carried out. The latter focused on socio-productive-strategic nuclei (NSPE) identified in the Innovative Argentina 2030 plan, both in the agro-industrial sector and in the area of health.

The Institute’s research projects are mainly financed by:

• National University of Mar del Plata (UNMdP)
• National Agency for Scientific and Technological Research (ANPCyT)
• Scientific Research Commission of the Province of Buenos Aires (CIC)
